HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

WOOHOOO! Goodbye 2012, Hello 2013!
Yeap, that's right. It's the beginning of a brand new year, which will bring with it a lot of new things.
How did everybody spend their New Years? Partying? Staying at home with the fam? Rolling around the floor crying because of the hobbit soundtrack?
I can tell you, I was not doing that last one. I spent the night with a few friends, dancing our way into the new year to the great sounds of 2012's finest.

I'm actually really hyped for the new year, surprisingly. There is just so much happening! So many concerts, so many new albums, new artists. It's going to be an incredible year.
Sadly, I can't actually go to any of the concerts, but I'm sure I'll survive. Somehow.

And other than that, theres nothing much else to say. I spent a good four hours doing nothing but looking up Ed Sheeran memes... Then I moved on to One Direction. It's safe to say that, since my tumblr won't work, I have been thoroughly entertained.
If that wasn't bad enough, I then proceeded to spam facebook. I'm such a lovely person. I'm definitely going to hell.
And I think That's all the information I have for you... Not much... Sadly.
But I'm trying.

Alright. Time to go.
Have a great year!

Music to my Ears

Good Afternoon there. Yeap, I only just woke up and figured if today was going to be a lazy day I at least had to do something productive. And this is where I come.
I'm here to tell you about a few new aquisitions I've made to my music collection. Even if you're not interested I'm going to tell you anyway.

So, for the boxing day sales my mum and I decided to go shopping. It was a lot of fun, and I picked up a good score. Music wise I'm very pleased with what I purchased.
If you're a fan of Of Monsters and Men, Tame Impala, or Little Mix you should probably keep an eye out on this blog because I may just be telling you my thoughts on these bands newest albums.
That's right, I bought 'My Head is an Animal', 'Lonerism' and 'DNA'.
They're awesome, by the way.

Yeah. Thats really all I wanted to say. Other than the fact that I've been trying to save up for Ed Sheeran tickets for next year and just when I have enough I find out that ALL the tickets have been sold out, apparently. Such a shame. I was looking forward to it. But, I guess there'll be other times.
And I'm not actually going to promise that I'll "review" any of the albums I've just bought, because that's false advertising. Haha.
Actually, I'm listening to DNA at the moment, and all day at work yesterday. Haha, I got a few strange looks when I was dancing around the bakery using a pair of tongs as a microphone.

Lazy days are the best!
I'll try and give you something new to read, but maybe not reviews. I suck at that. But still music related, of course. I started reading other peoples reviews and thought, 'How do they make it so detailed?'. Then I realized  that it wasn't for me. But, have no fear, this is a music blog and I will keep giving you some interesting information about the music I find. And If I haven't said it before -which I'm almost possitive I have- I am always open to suggestions. If you want me to take a listen to anything feel free to talk to me.

For now, though, this is the end. I'll be sure to update more often, hopefully.
Actually, right now I really feel like going to see some live music. Too bad that there's nothing on near where I live. I'll have to work on that.
Toodles, lovelies. Don't forget to stay tuned.

California 37

It sure has been a while. Good grief, I need to get up to speed.
Okay, here goes.
As a Christmas present my best friend gave me an album. This album just so happened to be California 37.
Now, if you are previously unaware of the band we have to thank for creating this masterpiece, it is Train.
If you still have no idea about this band, I'll give you a few hints. This is the band that sang the songs 'Save me, Sanfransisco', 'Hey, Soul Sister' and, off of their new album, '50 ways to say goodbye'.
If you're still clueless then I suggest you hurry up and listen to their album.

The newest album to be guided to our ears features songs such as the aforementioned '50 ways to say goodbye' and 'Drive by'. It's a mix of good vocals, varied instruments, and both a slow and fast paced rhythm. I spent a full two hours trying to figure out just what it sounded like, and I was tempted to say that it sounded very Country, but that wasn't right at all.
Actually, in all honesty, I might be a tad biased because I absoloutly LOVE the vocals. I could listen to Patrick Monohan's voice for God knows how many hours.
Now, I always hate picking favourite's when it comes to songs, but I have managed to narrow it down to four for this album.
The first and foremost would have to be 'California 37'.
The next would be 'Mermaid'.
Coming in third is 'Drive by'.
And, lucky last, we have '50 ways to say goodbye'.

I very much enjoyed listening to it, and will continue to do so until I can no longer listen to it -which I don't think will happen.

Here is the cover art for the album. Lovin' the car, seriously.

So, I guess that's really all I can say about that, then. Now, I'll have you know, Train does have Twitter, so there's that. I'd love to be more helpful in helping you find out about this fabulous band but I'd hate to think that I was helping you be lazy. Go find stuff out yourselves.
Merry Christmas everyone! I hope this is an aedquate enough post to keep you interested.
Until next time.

Apologies... again

Haha. This better not become a habit.
Again, I am here to say sorry for not posting anything. As it happens, I've been in the middle of a bit of a stress created crisis. I am happy to tell you that that crisis is somewhat over.
I also have other news.
Over the weekend I took part in a radio course. Well, half. I only went for one of the days.
It was really interesting and I learnt a whole lot about becoming a radio host, and when I get over my fear of social situations I'll be volunteering for a show. It should be fun.
The whole fear of social situations has made me rather stressed over the past week. Actually, so did my last post. But that's nothing I can fix now.
You'll be happy to know I've been listening to a load of new music and I'll be posting those in the week to come... hopefully.
That's really all I have to say for now, but watch this space for the next review.
And if you have any suggestions feel free to suggest them. I don't bite... much...
Until next time.

¡Uno!, ¡Dos!, ¡Tré!

No, I am not quoting Spanish at you. I am, however, giving you just a small taste of the BRAND NEW Green Day trilogy.
That's right, I've gone from indie to punk-rock in a mere week.
Okay, well, that's not entirely true. I'm listening to it because my friend told me too. But that doesn't mean I don't like it. I always liked Green Day.

The first album, ¡Uno! shows that the band has gone back to its roots. If you were a fan of Classic Green Day, then listening to this album will be like walking down memory lane. Are you getting a case of nostalgia?
Well, you shouldn't, because while they have gone back to their roots in ways, they've also put a new spin on  it; they're back and they're angry, passionate, and full of sass.
The album also presents some romantic interest in songs such as 'Sweet 16' and 'Angel Blue'. And need I even mention 'Oh Love'? Talk about passion. It's brilliant. So much feeling, so much emotion. It's basically a ballad.
While it's actually very difficult to chose just one song to be my favourite, I'd have to say it would be 'Stay the Night'. I have Aidon to thank for that, playing it over again and saying it reminded him of himself. I saw what he meant and now I can't un-see it.
Here is the album cover for you to drool over.

Now, onto the second album; ¡Dos!
The second album is a little different to the first; slower and a little less intense in a lot of the songs. The sound was very different compared to the first album in the trilogy.
I didn't particularly enjoy the album as much as I should have, but it was fairly good. Apparently it's an 'acquired taste' for Green Day, according to Aidon. His dad also reckons it sounds like 'Foxboro Hottubs', one of their alternate bands.
But some songs stand to be different to the others such as 'Nightlife' which is a step in another direction for Green Day, maybe they are trying something new or experimenting with other sounds which some may like, but I found to not be as good as the first instalment.
And here is the second instalment. Enjoy!

And now, prepare yourselves for the FINAL instalment... ¡Tré!
The third and final album in the Green Day trilogy was a mix of the first two albums, making it a little more mellow while still keeping that rebellious sound.
Let's change things up a little and give you the album cover now.

What else can I say about this album? Hmm... Let me think a minute...
OH! The song on this album that I liked the most was probably Drama Queen, because it wasn't too loud so it spared my ear drums, but it was still Green Day style... Kind of...
I enjoyed listening to all three, even if I really don't have much to say about them. Green Day is just too awesom for words, okay?
If you are interested in hearing the new album, or would like to know more in general, you can visit these guys on Facebook, Twitter and Youtube.

I can't really give you much more than this, I'm sorry to say. I'm not really an expert on Green Day. My friend Aidon, however, has an encyclopedic knoweledge on the topic. That is why, my lovelies, he helped me to co-write this particular review.

Well, this was an enjoyable experience, and I cannot wait until our next meet, when I will be reviewing...

Haha. Like I'd tell you guys now and spoil all my fun.
Here, have a picture of the guys from Green Day. They love you.
I love you, too.

Are you ready for it?
I don't think you are... But I'll tell you anyway.

There is another reason I'm here, and it's just as exciting.
In celebration of my week long attempt at creating and managing a successful blog, I'm going to give you all my 'Top Five' pick of the week. And depending on how long I last on here, this should happen every week. Get ready for this, it'll be awesome!
