Emerald City

Hello again again.
I assume you've noticed the title of today's blog and thought, "I don't think we're in Kansas anymore." But, I'll have you know, this post has absolutely nothing to do with The Wizard of Oz.
Actually, I'm here to tell you about Knievel's new album.

After taking a break - for twelve years! - the band has picked up again, releasing 'Emerald City' after two years in the making. Listening to the album (another that I had received from an unmentionable source) gave me hope that talent doesn't disappear, even after years.

I  seem to be listening to a lot of music fromt the same genre at the moment. But, I can't help it if it's all just so good.
The album, titled 'Emerald City', was upbeat and instantly made me feel happy. In fact, being able to tell people about it makes me happy. I love being able to share me musical experiences with other people, especially when the music is brilliant.
As it happens, I tend to be overly obssessed with vocals, and the vocals in this song basically made my brain melt -In a good way! It was brilliant to hear such nice sounding voices along side such nice sounding music.

If you would like to learn more about Knievel they do have a website, but I had trouble finding other sources, and, in all honesty, the webpage didn't work for me. I'm hoping you have better luck.
In any situation, though, the album is well worth giving a listen to.
I'm so glad they brought out another album, because - had they not - I probably wouldn't have known about them. But I know now, and that's all that matters.
Here is the cover to their latest album. Enjoy, lovelies!

If there's something you'd like me to take a look at, or suggest (because, come on, I need more usic in my life), drop me a line and I'll check it out.
Until next time, fair strangers.

Moonfire

Hello again my lovely listeners.

Today I have some exciting news. I failed english! But that's not really important, other than the fact that I should probably be good at english to be managing a blog of any kind. Oh well, we can't all be genius'.

Which brings me to my next subject; Boy and Bear!

A friend of mine recently suggested that I take the time to give their debut album, Moonfire, a listen, and that's just what I did. My ears were very pleased.

The music held an upbeat quality, making it a real joy to listen to. I think I'd have to say my favourite song is Part Time Beleiver.

After the day that I've had, I'm really glad that I decided to listen to the album. And I think I'm getting the hang of writing this kind of thing. But, the main part is I'm enjoying myself.

Back to the musical side of things, I'm almost positive that this album will be played quite a lot during the span of the summer, and I'm glad I bought the album when I did!

So, again, I sincerely hope you'll find their album as awesome as I did, and maybe even take the time buy it rather than torrent it. I always find it nicer to have a real copy - a physical copy- that I can look at and say, 'I bought that and I love it!' Also, it gives the CD collection a nice touch.

To find out more about this brilliant band, and to keep up to date on all the latest news, you can follow them on Facebook or Twitter, and check out their webpage.

You'll love the album, I promise, and if you don't, well, you have a different taste in music to mine, and that's perfectly fine. Maybe next time.

Here is the Album cover, just for added effect. :D

Hope you got something out of this, because I sure did. Until next time!

(P.s. Hopefully I'll be going to the launch of The Ocean Party's album 'Social Clubs'. Isn't that GREAT! I'll give you more news closer to the date)

Social Clubs

Hello again, Guys and Gals.

I've just spent a few hours listening to a band that I only just recently discovered. The Ocean Party!
Their album Social Clubs was one of the albums that I was given and I've found it hard to stop playing it over and over again.
The music is steady, not too fast or too slow. The vocals are fitting to the feel of the music and gives off an overall calming feeling. Perfect for just sitting back and relaxing under the shade of a nice tree and reading a good book. (This may have been how I was listening to it).

Alright, so I know my skills at reviewing things are terrible. I mean, I can't give you details on instruments or chords or stuff like that, but, in all honesty, I enjoyed listening to their album so much. It's absolutely brilliant.

Another great thing about local talent is that they're generally more open to interactions. Especially over twitter. The Ocean Party, while they may not be as popular as other groups, are in my opinion a great lot of people! One day I'd hope to go to a gig, or maybe even meet them. Then again, I'd like to meet everybody, but it's the thought that counts.
To learn more about the band, you can visit their twitter, facebook or bandcamp pages (or just google them). I sincerely suggest, if you're a fan of indie music or just generally interested in hearing something new, that you give them the benefit of the doubt and give 'em a listen. You certainly won't regret it.

I give them a 5/5 because they made me feel relaxed, even though I've been studying for exams that are tomorrow and I feel a little ill, and especially during work.

Keep listening, until next time.

P.s - I'll get the hang of writing someday, but until then, here is what I have to give you. I'll go read some other blogs and try to learn a thing or two, but I started this because I can and I enjoy listening to music; not to please other people.

Sounds Exciting!

Hey everyone!
I bet you're wondering what exactly this blog is about. Well, that's what I'm here to tell you about.
Recently, I was lucky enough to attend an information night at one the local radio stations in my area, and it really inspired me to become what I've dreamed about. However, I thought I should start off small, nothing extravagant.
In turn, this is what has been created. This blog will give you reviews of music that I've been given or that has been suggested to me by friends or others.
I'm always open to listen to new things, and I have quite a diverse taste. Even if I'm not particularly a fan of the music, I will always tell you it's good qualities. I will not insult anything unless I have a really really REALLY good reason, which I can't see happening.
I do hope you enjoy reading these little reviews as much as I enjoy writing them. If you find an artist that isn't well known or would just like to suggest music, I'm all ears.
And please remember, I do not mean to insult, and if I do it is accidental. I will apologize in advance, but I won't be apologizing again because I did warn you. :D
Here is another quick note: I'm only speaking my own personal opinion, whether you agree with it or not is entirely up to you. I will not be held accountable for any 'bad' reviews, because sometimes that just happens.

On a more enjoyable note, I have a whole heap of music that is just sitting there waiting for me to listen to it and tell you all about it. Some of these include The Ocean Party, Taylor Sheridan, and Voltaire Twins.

I hope you're all ready for this. It's going to be FUN!
